You should know that travelling to Barcelona with your dog is quite possible and very easy!

All you need to do is get organized in advance and everything will be fine. That’s why I share my experience with you to help you plan your and your dog’s trip to Barcelona. So, by giving you some advice on choosing your accommodation and organising your trip, I hope you will have a dream stay in Barcelona with your dog!

Barcelona with a dog – Which is the best accommodation with a dog?

More and more structures (hotels, campsites, apartments, palaces, unusual accommodations) now welcome animals and especially dogs. That’s a good thing, but be careful…

Many hotels accept dogs but only to attract customers. They say they are dog-friendly but offer small, unsuitable rooms and have no equipment for dogs, no place for their small needs…. So be careful when booking your hotel.

Make sure that there are at least green spaces around the hotel….

To help you choose the one that best suits your needs and those of your dog, here is my selection of the 2 best dog friendly hotels in Barcelona.

Best placed hotel in Barcelona for a stay with a dog

After having verified that all my criteria were well validated (good location, comfort, cleanliness, wifi), here is the best hotel but especially the best placed in Barcelona for a stay with a dog: Motel One Barcelona-Ciutadella

Indeed, this dog-friendly hotel is located in the Born district just next to the Ciutadella Park. It is simply the ideal place for a tourist stay (right in the centre) and for a stay with your dog. Indeed, walking your dog morning and evening in the large and magnificent Parc de la Ciutadella just outside your hotel is what you will appreciate during your stay at One Barcelona-Ciutadella Motel.

In addition, this hotel offers modern, well-equipped rooms (air conditioning and private bathroom).

It is also an ideal place for tourism: Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas are 20 minutes walk away, as is Barcelona’s Olympic port. The Sagrada Familia is a 30-minute walk away. The metro station is only 400 meters away.

The very best thing about it: its exceptional price/quality ratio for Barcelona 110 € per night.

Best hotel in Barcelona with a garden that admits dogs

Obviously, the important thing when you spend a holiday with a dog is to have enough space and, ideally, a small garden. This is what I recommend as a priority criterion for your research.

If you can’t find hotels with spacious rooms and a small garden available in Barcelona, look for accommodation with green spaces nearby for your dog’s needs but also for walks.

I am very proud to have found Barcelona’s rare rreasure: a magnificent hotel in the heart of Barcelona with a small private garden! HAPPENESS for a stay with your dog: Petit Palace Boqueria Garden.

This splendid hotel is located in a historic 19th century building right next to the Boqueria market, only 10 metres from Las Ramblas.

Barcelona with a dog – What to bring and what documents to plan?

Wherever you go with your dog, it is important to check in advance that he has a microchip and that his health certificate is up to date with the vaccinations. Of course, his health certificate will have to follow you everywhere during the holidays.

If you are travelling by plane with your dog, other formalities should also be anticipated (European passport, agreements with airlines, health certificate…). Equipment will be required (transport cage…). You will simply need to check with the airline what about travelling withyour dog well in advance.

If you want to travel with your dog,

one of the best destinations is Scotland!
