Laos or Cambodia for a 15 days tour? This question was the first I asked myself before determining my itinerary Laos Cambodia in 2 weeks scheduled for the month of October. Reading the advice and reviews on the traveler forums didn’t help me at all to make my choice. Indeed, the opinions are very divided and none really convinced me … So I chose a route that allows you to visit Laos in 12 days and spend the last 3 days in Cambodia at the great site of Angkhor.
Here is step by step how I organized this 15 day tour Laos Cambodia.
15-day tour of Laos Cambodia – Why go there in October?
We have planned to leave from October 26 to November 11, 2019 to enjoy a rather good climate. Indeed, I read that Laos has a subtropical climate with temperatures around 25 ° C most of the year. October being recommended to visit the North of the Country, it was one of the reasons that guided me in the choice of this period to leave. But I must admit that the French days no work of November 1 and November 11 were also a strong argument. Indeed, by asking only 9 days of leave we will enjoy 17 days for our Laos Cambodia tour!
15-day tour of Laos Cambodia – How to get around Laos?
No good rail network, no good roads, car rental not recommended … Not easy to organize all transport by ourselves. So I contacted private guides / drivers (see my article: How to find a local guide in Laos?). Then I learned about the possibilities of transport by bus. There is the possibility to book in advance on the Internet: https://12go.asia then I booked a domestic flight (Luang Prabang – Pakse) which will save us from wasting too much time on the road.
