If you are well organized to select only the best beaches for your stay in Martinique, this article could interest you … Indeed, I made my small selection of the most beautiful beaches in Martinique taking into account my own criteria because I am wary of the information provided by the tourist offices and other tourist guides.
What are my criteria? Just that the beach makes me dream … Sandy blond, white sand, palm or coconut trees, limpid or turquoise waters, small cove or large bay, paradisiac beaches are numerous in Martinique. It is therefore impossible to enjoy all the beaches of Martinique in a short week … Here are the ones I had selected to be the most beautiful and are now part of my favorite beaches in the Caribbean. I ranked them in order of preference but all these heavenly beaches are located in the southern part of Martinique.

Most beautiful beaches of Martinique – Description and photos
Martinique best beaches – The Grande Anse des Salines
I will not be original starting with the Grande Anse des Salines which is reputed to be the most beautiful beach in Martinique.
Located in south of Sainte-Anne (in the southern part of Martinique), it’s the dream beach, the beach postcard with its coconut trees leaning on a pristine white sand … If you want to enjoy it quietly, you’ll have to go very early because its beauty attracts a lot of people …
Martinique best beaches – The Anse Michel
Anse Michel beach is also located in the town of Sainte-Anne. It is a beautiful beach that can proudly enthroned at the head of the most beautiful beaches of Martinique! With its postcard decor and white backgrounds, you can go for a nap in the sun in the shade of coconut palms … And with its rich flora and fauna underwater, this is an excellent spot for snorkelling. Parking located 10 minutes walk from the beach.
Martinique best beaches – The Grande Anse du Diamant
The Anse du Diamant is a dream beach that looks a little like the beach of Salines. It is located in the town of Diamant south of Martinique. Much longer than the Grande Anse des Salines and it is also less calm. Swimming can sometimes be dangerous. However, L’Anse Diamant offers one of the most beautiful views of the famous Diamond Rock.
Martinique best beaches – The Baignoire de Joséphine
I cheat a little because the Josephine’s Bath is not a beach but it’s a place I loved and that I have to mention. It is a sandbar covered with about fifty centimeters of transparent water off the town of François. Located in the South East of Martinique, on the Atlantic coast, the bay of François is protected by a coral reef on funds of white sand which are the most beautiful of all the Island. 2 kilometers from the coast, between the Islets Oscar and Thierry, is this famous Baignoire de Joséphine which is a place simply MAGNIFICENT! The tradition is that we enjoy a good ti-punch in the water in the middle of this beautiful natural pool.
Martinique best beaches – The Pointe Marin
Pointe Marin is also a paradise beach with coconut trees, turquoise water, white sand and everything and everything … It is located in the town of Sainte Anne so always in the southern part of Martinique. This little corner of paradise has seduced the Club Med which has been established since 1960 (Hotel Les Boucaniers). The beach is perfect to enjoy swimming because there are few waves. You can enjoy all day long as bars, straw huts and small restaurants line this idyllic place. No worries to park your gear because the beach is equipped with parking (paying of course).
Martinique best beaches – The Anse Dufour
The Anse Dufour is located in the town of Anses d’Arlet south of the island. I loved this beach for its Martinique side! With its fishing village and boats of all colors, this beach is very picturesque. And, icing on the cake, its funds are home to sea turtles that can be observed from the coast! Attention, here too I advise you to go early to enjoy the beach without too many people but especially to find a parking space. Indeed, there are 2 car parks but they do not have a large capacity …
Right next to Anse Dufour beach is his twin sister: the Anse noire beach, which is a black sand beach. It is pretty, certainly, but I will not classify it in the most beautiful beaches of Martinique.
Martinique best beaches – The Pointe Faula
Located near the Vauclin south of Martinique but Atlantic side (South East), this beach is incredible. To advance, to advance and to advance still of meter in meter having the water with mid calf: it is the peculiarity of this beach where one profits from the white bottoms in a setting of dream.
Attention since my stay, Pointe Faula has been invaded by the Sargasso. Make sure this beautiful beach is cleaned regularly before going.
Most beautiful beaches of Martinique – Where to choose your hotel?
When I organized my little week in Martinique, I hesitated between 3 places nice enough to be able to enjoy the most beautiful beaches of Martinique (see my article: Which coast to choose?). The most beautiful and interesting places were Sainte Anne, Le Diamant and Le François. It is Le François that caught my attention because close to the Bath of Josephine and the beautiful islets on white backgrounds in front of the Baie du François. There, I looked for the best hotel and chose the East Cape Lagoon Resort for its superb “quasi-private” beach and especially for its calm and its benefits. See this hotel on Booking
